FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My child is 2 years and 1 month old, but has already stopped using nappies: Can he/she use the Jardín de Nieve de Anayet?

No. In order to be accepted into the Jardín de Nieve, the 2 conditions must be fulfilled; - be older than 2.5 years and not use nappies.

Can children that are older than 2.5 years go to the Parque Infantil de Sextas?

The Parque Infantil Sextas is adapted for the younger ages and the Jardín de Nieve for the elder child so that each child can enjoy their experience with their friends.

Can my child go to the Parque Infantil de Sextas if he/she is not quite 4 months old?

No. We are very strict on this rule for the personal safety and wellbeing of the children. 4 months is the minimum age throughout all childcare centres.

Can I drop the children off at the Jardínes de Nieve at any time of the day?

No. The drop off times in both childcare centres are strict. It is a measure we have taken in order not to upset the children who have already entered. The arrival of a new child means that there will be another time of adjustment, not only for the new child, but for those already inside. It is also necessary to respect the drop off times, from 08:45 to 10:30 (morning) and from 13:30 to 15:00 (afternoon).

We (the whole family) are going to ski and we will be leaving our child in the Jardín de Nieve.  Is it recommended that we all go to the childcare centre to drop him/her off?

No. Children find it difficult enough to be separated from their parents. In order to make this separation period easier for both children and parents alike, the good-bye should be short and sweet, avoiding phrases such as, “poor little thing” or “you’ll be fine” or even trying to chivvy them along with "what a great time you're going to have" or "think of all the lovely new toys there are". The method which we use for such moments is general practice for all childcare centres.

Can I pay by the hour?

No. The service is contracted by the day or half day. The minimum amount of time that a child can spend in the centre is half a day, lasting for 3.5 hours. Any delay in collecting the child will be charged at a rate of €15 per hour or fraction of an hour over that time.

If I have booked a Half Day stay at the centre and instead of arriving at 09:00, I arrive at 09:30; does that mean I can pick up my child later than 12.30?

No, Half Days finish at the said time, even if the drop off is later than it should be. If the time at which the child is collected is delayed, the extra charge will be incurred.

What is the daily menu?

The daily menu is specifically adapted to the children’s’ needs. For babies, there is a selection of baby-food. We also offer a menu suitable for celiacs.

Can I bring food for my child?

No. We serve food at an early time so there is no need. In the Parque Infantil Sextas, lunch is served between 12:30 and 14:00 and from 13:30 a 14:30 at the Jardín de Nieve de Anayet. For those children who arrived at the start of the day and get hungry, we can offer them fruit juice and biscuits. Having said that, the children should arrive having already had breakfast.

Will my child learn how to ski at the Jardín de Nieve Anayet?

For 2 hours a day, the children go outside, where we have a 35m slope and the children can try skiing. It is completely recreational, a great way for the children to try skis for the first time. There are also other activities available such as sledging and play houses.

Do I need to bring my own ski equipment so that my child can try skiing on the snow?

Yes. The Jardín de Nieve does not have ski equipment, for that reason, you can either bring your own equipment, or if you don’t have your own equipment, you can hire equipment at the resort's rental shops. The children should all have suitable equipment in order to go outsider: jacket, hat, gloves, sun cream and goggles/ sunglasses. Those who do not have all the suitable clothing will not be allowed to go outside.

I have booked 5 Full Days but my child has fallen ill and cannot attend. Will you reimburse for the days that aren’t used?

Only once we have been given a doctor’s note will we return the money, keeping 10% of the total amount for making the reservation.

Do I need to book a place for my child well in advance?

Yes, it is strongly recommended to do so. The demand is very high and clients can be left without any space if they haven’t booked their place well in advance, especially at weekends and during peak season

Once paid, is my place guaranteed?

Yes, the payment is always made beforehand.  Once you have filled in the form, and paid, a place is guaranteed for your child.

My child has been ill and, even though he/she has recovered, he/she still needs to continue with antibiotics. Can he/she still enter the childcare centres?

If he/she is not ill than yes, however the staff are NOT able to administer any type of medicine. Therefore, parents are asked to calculate when to give their child medicine, so that during the time spent in the childcare centres, no medicine is needed.
