The unspoilt harmony of the traditional mountain architecture of the village itself and the stately silhouettes of the spa complex give an air of grandeur and history to the valley. A five-minute gondola ride from the heart of this peaceful setting at 1,160 metres to an altitude of 1,900 metres reveals a well guarded secret – a modern ski resort equipped with the latest technological advances. Panticosa is proud of its facilities and to avoid overcrowding of the resort there is a limit of 3,500 visitors per day. The on-piste facilities include a nursery and a pizza restaurant with panoramic views of the slopes, bar, cafeteria, ski-hire shop and a boutique with the latest in skiwear design. Accommodation ranges from luxurious four and five-star hotels in the spa complex to three-star, family-run hotels where personal attention makes the guest feel right at home. The nearby ski resort of Formigal provides additional options such as dog-sled and skidoo rides.
